Website information
Information published on this website is provided for general informational purposes only. Immigration, residence, citizenship, tax, financial and relocation rules can change and may depend on individual circumstances.
Website content does not constitute individual legal, immigration, tax or financial advice and does not guarantee that a particular route is available or suitable for you. Where individual advice is required, a specific assessment should be undertaken.
The website may offer a Portuguese language view generated automatically from the English source copy. Unless a Portuguese passage has been expressly human-reviewed and identified as such, the English version remains the reference version for legal wording and interpretation of public website content. Client-specific engagement documents remain governed by the language and terms stated in those documents.
No guarantee of outcome
We provide professional assistance and coordination based on the information available and your individual circumstances. Decisions relating to visas, residence permits, citizenship, appointments and other immigration matters are made by the competent authorities.
We do not guarantee approval, appointment availability or any specific immigration outcome. Any timelines communicated by Chapter Europe are estimates and may be affected by government authorities, consulates, third parties or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Professional services
A free 15-minute introductory call may be offered after an initial enquiry where it would help clarify scope. It is optional, is not directly bookable as a public consultation and does not itself create a professional engagement or replace substantive individual advice.
The exact services provided to a client are defined in the applicable quotation, Statement of Work or Service Agreement. Only services expressly included in that document form part of the engagement. Additional services may be quoted separately.
If there is a conflict between these general Terms and a signed Service Agreement relating to a specific engagement, the specific Service Agreement will govern that engagement, subject to mandatory law.
Fees, starting prices and Assessment credit
Some current starting prices are published on our Pricing page for budget orientation. A starting price is not an automatic package price. The final professional fee, scope, inclusions and any known third-party costs are confirmed in the applicable quotation, Statement of Work or Service Agreement.
A paid assessment may be proposed where useful: Legal €160, Relocation €140 or Tax €300, according to the matter. Each lasts 60 minutes and includes the written assessment or roadmap described for that service. The client receives the written assessment or roadmap whether or not they engage Chapter Europe afterwards. A 30-day credit applies only where the written scope expressly confirms it. It does not apply to the Tax Assessment, RTW Review, Independent Application Review or Refusal Strategy Assessment. Any applicable credit is against Chapter professional fees only and excludes government fees and third-party costs.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, professional fees are payable in advance and services commence after payment has been received and the required onboarding information has been provided. Government fees, consular fees, translations, apostilles, legalisations, courier costs, travel, accommodation, insurance and other third-party expenses are excluded unless expressly stated otherwise.
Client responsibilities
Clients are responsible for:
- providing complete and accurate information;
- providing requested documents within agreed deadlines;
- maintaining accurate contact information;
- responding to communications;
- attending required appointments; and
- notifying us of relevant changes in circumstances.
Delays or adverse consequences resulting from inaccurate information, missing documents, missed appointments or delayed communication may fall outside our responsibility.
Consumer withdrawal rights
If you are acting as a consumer and enter into a service contract with us at a distance, you may have a statutory right to withdraw from that contract within 14 days of its conclusion without giving a reason, subject to applicable law and any statutory exceptions.
If you ask us to begin providing services during that 14-day period, we may require an express request on a durable medium. If you then exercise a valid right of withdrawal after work has begun, you may be required to pay an amount proportionate to the services actually performed up to the time of withdrawal. Where a service has been fully performed following the legally required express request and acknowledgement, the statutory right of withdrawal may cease.
Further information is set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Third-party professionals
Chapter Europe may coordinate with independent lawyers, immigration professionals, relocation specialists and other service providers. Where a third party is independently responsible for a service, the terms of that professional or provider may also apply.
We make reasonable efforts to coordinate the service, but we are not responsible for matters exclusively within the control of an independent third party, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
Intellectual property
All content on this website, including text, graphics, branding, logo, illustrations, layouts and original materials, belongs to Chapter Europe or its licensors unless otherwise stated.
You may access the website for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify or commercially exploit our content without prior written permission.
Client-specific templates, checklists, guides and other materials provided as part of a service remain subject to the intellectual-property terms contained in the applicable Service Agreement.
Third-party websites
Our website may contain links to external websites. Chapter Europe does not control and is not responsible for the content, availability, security or practices of third-party websites.
Website availability
We aim to keep the website available and accurate, but we do not guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free or current. We may modify, suspend or discontinue parts of the website when necessary.
Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law. Subject to applicable law, Chapter Europe's liability in connection with a specific engagement will be governed primarily by the applicable Service Agreement or Statement of Work.
Consumer dispute resolution
Consumers may have access to an approved Portuguese consumer alternative dispute-resolution entity. Depending on the territorial and material competence applicable to the dispute, this may include the Centro de Arbitragem de Conflitos de Consumo de Lisboa.

Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rules applicable to you, disputes will be subject to the competent courts of Lisbon, Portugal.
